Workforce and Health Services Management

This group has two broad research streams and employs a range of research methodologies. The first stream examines nursing and health care politics, with a focus on the effect of health reforms on nursing practice and management. The second looks at specific nursing practices and issues, specifically the effects and experiences of shiftwork, the transition from nursing education to clinical practice, and information use and clinical decision making in nurse practice. Research methodologies used include the grounded theory approach, longitudinal studies and life history approaches.
