Health Services Management

The Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management is a 24 credit point (4 units of study) certificate and students are required to complete 2 foundation units and 2 elective units over 6 months (1 semester full-time) or 1 year (2 semesters part-time).

The Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management is a 48 credit point award (8 units of study) and students are required to complete 4 foundation units and 4 elective units 1 year (2 semesters full-time) or 2 years (4 semesters part-time). Students who have competed the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management will be eligible for credit towards this award.

The Master of Health Services Management is a 72 credit point award (12 units of study) and students are required to complete 6 foundation units and 6 elective units. Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Health Services Management will be eligible for credit towards this award.

Students will be able to complete the required units of study in a variety of ways. Some units will be offered in the distance mode and online, others will be offered in the intensive mode, which requires attendance for a short period and some will require weekly attendance. After competing the foundation units, students can choose electives that best suit their disciplinary area or their management interests and career pathway.

Admission
Applications for all health service management courses are through the Faculty. International students who wish to study full-time on-campus should apply through the International Office of the University. International student who wish to study part-time may only take those units offered in the distance mode and should apply directly to the Faculty.

Applicants who have completed part of a management course or some management units of study either at the University of Sydney or other institutions will be eligible to apply for credit in accordance with the University’s rules. Applicants who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management or the Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management offered by the Faculty will receive credit towards the Master’s course providing they meet the requirements for admission.
