Aged Care Management (People, Politics, Quality & Money)
(in association with Kennedy Health Care Group)
This is an exciting new course, which has been designed in association with industry advisors and will provide participants with theoretical and practical management knowledge to enhance their ability to manage commonly encountered situations, and respond proactively to the daily challenges and changes confronting them in the aged care setting.
Throughout the course, participants will explore current aged care management issues and the contemporary political and policy initiatives underpinning management challenges in the aged care sector. Vignettes and simulated work scenarios will be interspersed throughout the course to provide an environment for participants to discuss and debate issues and to investigate ways of implementing new ideas, knowledge and skills in their respective workplaces.
The target audience for this course includes: Directors of Nursing, Hostel Managers/Supervisors, Deputy Directors of Nursing, and Registered Nurses considering a management career in the aged care sector.
This course is conducted over six days and delivered in three two-day modules and will be facilitated by aged care industry consultants, Kennedy Health Care Group consultants and staff and lecturers from the University of Sydney.
Course dates for 2007 are still being finalised. Details will be published when the Faculty renovations are completed.
