WHO'S WHO AT THE FACULTY

Dr Maureen Boughton
Pro-Dean
Maureen’s role as Pro-Dean involves deputising for the Dean. She also oversees much of the student governance of the Faculty, particularly through her role as Chair of the Faculty’s Board of Studies.

Professor Trudy Rudge
Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching
Trudy is responsible for the academic coordination of the Faculty’s courses of study and works with other members of the Faculty to oversee student admission, enrolment and progression. Trudy also reports on students’ satisfaction with courses and units of study. She also has a leadership role in the ongoing academic development of courses of study and is actively engaged in her own research projects. In 2007, Trudy has a major role in our international PhD collaboration.

Murray Fisher
Associate Dean, Academic
Murray oversees the academic work involved in preparing, offering, staffing, assessing and reporting of results for all units of study offered by the Faculty. Murray works closely with the other associate deans and sub deans in the management of the Faculty’s academic programs.

Professor Kate White
Associate Dean, Research
Kate’s role is to enhance and support the ongoing development of the Faculty’s research program, which involves both staff and students in the Faculty, as well as our clinical partners. As well, Kate maintains a strong leadership role and research program in her field of cancer nursing and is currently engaged in a number of funded projects to strengthen cancer nursing practice and research.

Stuart Newman
Sub Dean, International and Postgraduate Studies
Stuart is responsible for the Faculty’s international programs and conducting professional development and short courses offered to registered nurses. Stuart is also responsible for providing academic advice to postgraduate and post-registration students. He works closely with Trudy Rudge to ensure that all students progress satisfactorily and he has a particular role in advising and admitting new postgraduate students.

Lynne Brown
Sub Dean, Pre-registration
Lynne provides academic advice and support to graduate entry and combined degree/Master of Nursing students. She works closely with Trudy Rudge to ensure the satisfactory progression of all pre-registration students.

Dr Heather McKenzie
Sub Dean, Research
Heather’s role is to provide academic advice to potential higher degree research students (ie. those undertaking the PhD and MPhil) and, in conjunction with supervisors, to support existing students during their candidature. She also works with Jo Patching, Murray Fisher and the supervisiors, to provide support for honours students.

Vicki Bradford
Sub Dean, Indigenous Strategy and Undergraduate
Vicki is responsible academic advice to undergraduate pre-registration students. She is also responsible for assisting all Indigenous students within the Faculty and promoting the Faculty to prospective Indigenous students. Vicki plays an integral role in developing the future Indigenous strategies of the Faculty.

Dr Jenny Green
Sub Dean, Clinical Education
Jenny oversees the academic aspects of clinical education of pre-registration students. She works closely with Murray Fisher and Maria Carlisle to ensure that students have clinical placement experiences that meet course requirements.

Jo Patching
Honours Coordinator
Jo is the person to see if you are interested in completing honours, both for those who want to add an honours program to their bachelor degree, or who want to undertake the MN (Honours). If you are a final year pre-registration student interested in doing honours you should contact Jo to find out more. Or if you are a registered nurse upgrading your diploma to a degree, Jo can also assist you with advice about doing honours.

Sarah Brown
Manager, Student Administration
Sarah is responsible for the overall administration of student issues and the management of the student services team at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery.

Kate Lee
Assistant Manager, Student Administration
Kate is the most recent addition to our student services team and is responsible for the administration of local and international pre-registration students and other student administration issues in the manager’s absence. Students will contact Kate throughout their course for matters relating to or enquiries about courses, admission, progression and graduation.

Susanne Norton
Administration Officer
Susanne is responsible for the administration of local and international post-registration and research degree students. Students contact Susanne throughout their course for matters relating to or enquiries about courses, admission, progression and graduation.

Maria Carlisle
Manager, Clinical Placements
Maria manages clinical placements for all pre-registration students in all the clinical units of study. Maria liaises with over 300 clinical placement sites and endeavours to ensure that all students have appropriate clinical experiences.
