Ms Lynne Brown
Lecturer and Director (Pre-registration Courses)
RN, BHSc(Nursing) Charles Sturt MN(Honours) UWS Nepean
Lynne has considerable experience working as a Registered Nurse in medical/surgical areas of several Sydney metropolitan hospitals, as well as a Coronary Care Unit where she was Nurse Unit Manager for a period of time. Subsequently Lynne worked in many and varied nursing homes where her appreciation for the older members of our society grew.
In addition, she has enjoyed the teaching and administrative roles that she has carried out in the tertiary sector over a number of years and she has a commitment to ensure, as much as possible, positive experiences of student nurses undertaking their pre-registration degree.
Research interests and areas of expertise
Lynne conducts research in the following areas:
- Students' perceptions and expectations of nursing;
- Clinical Experiences for students;
- General Aged Care Issues;
- Implications of nursing home placement for the carer.
Current projects
Lynne's current projects include Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) student profiles and Student Experiences.
